Looking for an ocean-front city that offers something for both business travelers and fun seeking vacationers at the same time? Santa Monica is a beautiful city that will live in your memories for a very long time, whether you are here for one day or if you live here for ten years. You can easily make the trip to L.A. or any where else in Southern California from here. Santa Monica is a mere eight miles from the Los Angeles International Airport. It has eight districts that are all different, offering their own way of life and feel.
One of the most impressive attractions you’ll hear about when you get to Santa Monica is the Santa Monica Pier. Santa Monica Pier is something you have to see, and is great for singles and families alike. There’s a complete amusement park on Santa Monica Pier that everyone can enjoy called Pacific Park. If you enjoy a thrill, you’ll like the five-story roller coaster and the nine-storey ferris wheel. The ferris wheel is over the water and the first solar-powered one in the world. You can also take to the air with the Trapeze School of New York, which is found on the pier. You’re taught in groups of ten, it lasts two hours, and you don’t have to have any experience.
There’s also plenty in the Pacific Park for younger or older people who don’t particularly care for an adrenaline rush. Maybe you’d like to forget the amusement park all together and head to the carousel, arcade, or ocean front walk. The walk is full of restaurants and shops, and there’s a cool sandbox for kids. They’ll love the Viking ship and the interactive dragon’s head.
The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is found under the carousel. There are interactive exhibits, and is a wonderful way to inspire young ones to have an appreciation for the ocean and ocean-life.
